ICD-10 CM, Part 3 of 3: Chapters 14-21

This is the third session of a three-part ICD-10-CM training series. During this session we will review the chapter-specific guidelines associated with coding diagnoses classified to chapters 14 (Diseases of Genitourinary System) through Chapter 21 (Factors influencing health status and contact with health services). This session also includes case studies to aid in comprehension of the associated guidelines.
- Discuss chapter-specific guidelines associated with assigning diagnoses, for chapters 14-21.
- Identify the chapters associated with the ICD-10 CM that include the genitourinary system.
- Evaluate case studies and use lessons learned.

Catrena Smith, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-I, CRC, CHTS-PW, has over 17 years’ experience in the health information management industry. She is currently the president of Access Quality Coding and Consulting, LLC located in Orange Park, Florida. She has served in many roles such as coding specialist, coding auditor, coding trainer, medical records technician, and coding manager.
