Board Financial Governance and Compliance

This webinar focuses on the pertinent issues impacting hospital board of directors’ ability to provide financial governance for their facility. The presenters will review common enrollment issues, high level Medicare cost report review and strategies, financial ratios and benchmarks and revenue cycle management including the chargemaster. They will also provide a summary of hospital board financial governance best practices.

  • Express an understanding of foundational best practices of financial management to enhance the boards’ oversight of financial operations.
  • Design a governance checklist of processes and procedures that should be reviewed at least annually as part of the financial governance program.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of high-level reimbursement, including enrollment, Medicare cost reporting, and the revenue cycle.

This webinar is designed for health care facility boards of directors as well as administration teams, including chief executive officers and chief financial officers.

Paul Baumert is a Consulting Shareholder at Lutz with over 20 years of experience in accounting and consulting for health care and nonprofit industries. He specializes in the areas of financial management support services and reimbursement analysis.

Kirk Delperdang joined the firm in 2013 and has more than 25 years of professional experience in the health care industry, which includes managing the specialty networks, Medicare advantage and audit/reimbursement departments at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska. He provides accounting and consulting services to health care and related organizations.
